Bebington 3s/4s unbeaten in Wirral Cup.

A mix of Bebington 3rd and 4th team players combined to play in the 2017 Wirral Cup, held at The Cheshire County Sports Club in Chester on Saturday 3rd September.

The tournament consisted of 3 x 25 min, 11-a-side, full pitch games, against Chester and two Neston teams.

Game 1 - Bebington played the hosts Chester in the opening game. It was a decent overall display from Bebington. Keith Millington scoring from a penalty corner in a 1-1 draw.

Game 2 - Neston were the next opponents, and although they dominated possession in the early stages of the game, it was Bebington who struck first . Debutant Jon Griffiths putting Bebington 1-0 up. It was soon 2-0 when Steve Brocklebank fired home. Neston did manage to pull a goal back, but Bebington held on for a 2-1 win.

Game 3 - The other Neston team were Bebington's next victims! On a hot, sunny afternoon in Chester, there were a few tired legs on both sides. However, the only goal of the game came in the last minute. Geoff Knight, yes Geoff, hit home to give Bebington a 1-0 win!

Overall, a good day of hockey and 3 games unbeaten! Special mention to Martin Mcinulty for his superb goal keeping, which kept us in games!

Bring on the 2017/18 season!
